Description

Clearbrook continues to provide transportation services to more than 8,000 children & adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Clients are transported to work, school, day programs, medical appointments, community recreation, and other activities. 

Current Activities

The RTA Board approved funding for this project on August 19, 2021.   The operating service provided 17,041 trips in November 2022.

Description

The RTA is assisting the City of Chicago with an initiative to provide transformative changes along the 79th Street commercial corridor within the Auburn Gresham community areas. A plan will be developed to serve as a guide for future housing, retail and transportation investments in the community.

Current Activities

The draft corridor plan is being reviewed by the community, who is submitting feedback before finalizing the plan in late winter.

Description

CTF Illinois provides transportation support to children and adults with diverse disabilities.  The door-to-door transportation services are vital to allow persons enrolled at CTF greater access to their daily supports including vocational, community employment, educational, fine arts, and advocacy.  This award includes funding for GPS fleet tracking devices to provide precise travel data.

Current Activities

CTF Illinois has decided not to move forward with this project. Funds from this award will be reprogrammed to another subrecipient.

Description

The RTA has awarded $44,000 to the Village of Maywood for Phase I engineering needed for a covered bicycle shelter near the 5th Avenue Metra station served by the Union Pacific West line, heated bus shelters along 5th Avenue as served by Pace, wayfinding signage for the train station, and pavement marking improvements.

Current Activities

Maywood is in the process of selecting a firm to perform the Phase I Engineering. QBS released in January 2024.

Description

The Transportation to Work Program provides demand-responsive transportation to and from work for persons with disabilities.  The project operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and serves all of DuPage County.

Description

The RTA has awarded $53,628 to the Village of Ford Heights for Phase I engineering needed to improve the sidewalk network, add concrete pads to select bus stops, and install ADA-compliant crosswalks at key intersections surrounding the Pace Route 357. The bus route runs through the center of the village and forms a loop around the future 60-acre mixed-use New Town Center development. There are currently significant gaps in the sidewalk network that connects these surrounding areas with bus stops, and most crosswalks in the area are faded and are not ADA-compliant.

Phase I Engineering is underway. Topographic survey has been completed.

This is a general public, demand responsive dial-a-ride service that serves primarily for senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the urban portions of Kendall County.   The award includes funding to support a part-time mobility manager.

Description

In May 2022, Lake County combined and expanded the Central and West projects into a countywide service.

Ride Lake County is a borderless countywide paratransit service providing seniors (age 60 and above) and individuals with disabilities curb-to-curb transportation. The geographic service includes Lake County along with the entirety of municipalities whose city limits extend beyond the County border into Cook and McHenry County. With no limitations on the purpose of the trip the service operates Sunday through Saturday from 6:00am to 6:00pm (excluding specific holidays).

The Ride Lake County operating service provided 3,860 trips in September 2023.
