Description

This project will add multi-modal access improvements to multiple Pace Routes on the Washington Street corridor. Route 572 is the primary route that serves the corridor, although Route 562 also serves portions of the corridor and four others connect to it (561, 565, 566, 569). Improvements include bus shelters and concrete pads, wayfinding to important destinations, curb extensions at the intersection with the Robert McClory Bike Path, crosswalk improvements along the project area, and bike parking at the Metra station.

Current Activities

The City is working with IDOT to get Phase I PDR approved.

Description

This project will fund Phase I engineering needed for a side path that will connect the University Park Metra Station to the I-57 Industrial Corridor. This project will complete a multimodal connection between transit and a growing employment center, making it easier and more safe for workers to access jobs via transit.

Description

Improvements include covered and non-covered bicycle parking, as well as an ADA ramp at the Village's Yellow stations. The Dempster station will receive 36 additional bicycle parking spots, an improved sidewalk connection to the bicycle parking, and an ADA accessible ramp. At Oakton-Skokie station, bicycle parking will be added to accommodate 30 additional bicycles.

Current Activities

Skokie is working with the CMAQ project selection committee to get funds reinstated. Progress will resume in the next quarter.

Description

This project will fund Phase I engineering necessary for sidewalk, crosswalk, and other intersection improvements along Sauk Trail and Torrence Avenue. Future improvements will fill sidewalk gaps and make ADA and safety related improvements at key intersections along Pace Bus Route 358.

Description

This project provides new sidewalks, crosswalks, and pedestrian signal heads along a one-and-a-half mile section of Golf Road, improving access to three Pace fixed routes that operate on the corridor (#209, #606, and #757). Several major employers are located on this corridor and it has also been chosen by Pace as a potential Arterial Rapid Transit (ART) route.

Description

This project will construct new sidewalk on the east side of Wolf Road between the Prospect Heights Metra station and Willow Road. This will connect to a previous phase of the multi-use path on Wolf Road that goes north from Willow Road to Palatine Road. The project also includes the installation of pedestrian signals at Camp McDonald Road.

Current Activities

Finalizing temporary easements. Construction agreements have been sent to IDOT for approval. Targeting January 2024 letting date.

Description

This project included the installation of a five foot wide sidewalk along the south side of US30 / Lincoln Highway in the Village of Park Forest from Orchard Drive east to the Village limits at Rockwell Street, and then south along an undeveloped right-of-way to connect to an existing sidewalk in a residential neighborhood on Farragut Street. This is a segment of 2,425 linear feet and is the final segment of a greater project to build needed sidewalk connections along US30 from the eastern Village limits to the 211th Street Metra station.
