This cost known as the "base component fee" amounts to $100,360 per month for the 10 year period. ICE Funding will be used to pay the monthly base component fee for the first two years of project inclusion in the ICE program as they will support the development of innovative new technologies that enhance the customer experience while improving the coordination of services between the service boards. This technology will allow mass notification via the Public Address (PA) system and will display announcements directly to CTA's Train Tracker signs. This sytem meets ADA guidelines for providing written words so that hearing impaired riders are able to get information. Improvements include: bus stops, bus, and taxi access lanes, sheltered waiting areas, pedestrian walkways, shared vehicle lanes, kiss and ride, bicycle parking, and landscape improvements. Funding: Current ActivitiesThe Oakton Street Station opened in April 2012. The village completed the the Kiss'n'Ride with two bus turnouts, and a sidewalk funded by the ICE grant. The final phase of the project consisting of streetscaping and landscaping was completed in September 2013. Oakton Station served 23,225 passengers in November 2013.
