Description

The project provides for a Pantagraph inspection system and ultrasonic detection system that will allow for the real-time inspection of cars and locomotives. New servers hosting command and control software will be purchased and added to the system. Metra will also purchased a software suite, which consolidates alarm events and data from an unlimited number of sensors and information sources into a unified, interactive user interface. Description

Purchase of the Portfolio Management Tool, software licenses, and staff training on the Tool to improve IT Process and Program Management. The CTA IT PMO is responsible for coordinating project approval and prioritization with senior CTA leadership and ensuring that project management products (charters, schedules, solution architectures, etc.) are produced for critical projects. This portfolio management tool and process will significantly enhance the CTA's ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects on-time and on-budget. Funding: 2016 ICE: $1,200,000

Description

Funds will be used for the development and deployment of the Ventra Mobile Application and to provide improvements to the Ventra system such as the Express Menu on Ventra vending machines. The mobile application, for use on smartphones, will enhance the customer experience by providing an application to manage Ventra accounts, purchase fare products, receive account alerts, gain scheduling and trip planning information, interact with customer service and purchase tickets. In addition, the Express Menu on Ventra vending machines will allow customers to quickly purchase a Single-ride ticket or Pass products. Funding: 2015 ICE: $2,378,400

Description

Provides for the installation of a new back-office revenue accounting system to replace the existing system. The replacements will include servers and related hardware, and software and related programming. The system will be configured to be compatible with the existing point-of-sale terminals throughout the Metra system and the software that operated those terminals. The system will be configured to be compatible with Metra's new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The system will be capable of working with potential Automatic Passenger Counter (APC) systems. Funding: 2017 ICE: $1,930,000

Description

Improvements complementing new CMAQ funded Oakton Street station on the CTA Yellow Line. Improvements include: bus stops, bus, and taxi access lanes, sheltered waiting areas, pedestrian walkways, shared vehicle lanes, kiss and ride, bicycle parking, and landscape improvements.

Current Activities

The Oakton Street Station opened in April 2012. The village completed the the Kiss'n'Ride with two bus turnouts, and a sidewalk funded by the ICE grant. The final phase of the project consisting of streetscaping and landscaping was completed in September 2013. Oakton Station served 23,225 passengers in November 2013.

In 2015, Skokie received CMAQ program funding, via the RTA's Access to Transit Improvement Program, for additional bicycle parking at the Oakton Station.

Description

The proposed schedule will separate the Beverly Branch from Main Line service on both Saturday and Sunday as is currently done in peak periods, saving sixteen minutes for a ride from LaSalle Street to Joliet. Funding will provide improved service to special events and fast growing non-work travel markets.

In May 2012 CDOT completed the installation of bicycle facilities at CTA's Red Line 95th Street, Orange Line Western Avenue, the Red Line Loyola station and the Red Line Howard Street station and Metra's Clybourn Union Pacific Northwest Line station and the Metra Electric District 55th, 56th-57th stations.

Description

Expansion of existing Pace Route 570 service frequencies and the addition of a flexible circulator component to the route. Service will be enhanced for the following communities: Gurnee, Grayslake, Round Lake, Round Lake Park, Hanesville, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, Fox Lake and Long Lake.

Current Activities

Lake County implemented the service November 23, 2009. ICE funding for this project was exhausted in December 2010. Pace continues to provide the service with its own funds.
