Description

The Transportation to Work Program provides demand-responsive transportation to and from work for persons with disabilities.  The project operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and serves all of DuPage County.

Current Activities

The RTA Board approved funding for this project on August 19, 2021.  The operating service provided approximately 1,900 trips in September 2023.

Description

The Ride DuPage to Work is a service of the Ride DuPage system designed to enable persons with disabilities greater opportunities to obtain and maintain employment through more affordable transportation. DuPage Transportation to Work, initially funded with the 2006 program, was implemented March 1, 2008. DuPage County became the grantee for the project in 2010. Prior to that Pace served as the project grantee.

Current Activities

The service provided 2,597 trips in December 2017. This project is complete. Funds have been fully expended.

The Ride in Kane project coordinates dial-a-ride services in Kane County into a centralized system that optimizes transportation resources for older adults and persons with disabilities.  The sponsors of this project include multiple private non-profit organizations and local units of government.
