The following dataset contains mode of access data from Metra's origin-destination surveys. Data is available for most stations (from which commuters boarded from) for the following years: 1999, 2002, 2006, 2014, 2016, and 2018.

SURVEY_YEAR: Year in which the survey occurred
SHORT_STATION_NAME: Short version of the Metra station's name
LONG_STATION_NAME: Long version of the Metra station's name
LINES: Metra line (or lines) that the station is located on
WALKED: Percentage of passengers that walked to the station
DROVE_ALONE: Percentage of passengers that drove alone to the station
DROPPED_OFF: Percentage of passengers that were dropped off at the station
CARPOOL_DRIVER: Percentage of passengers that carpooled to the station and were the driver
CARPOOL_PASSENGER: Percentage of passengers that carpooled to the station and were a passenger
SHUTTLE_BUS: Percentage of passengers that took a shuttle bus to the station
BUS: Percentage of passengers that took a Pace or CTA bus to the station
RAPID_TRANSIT: Percentage of passengers that took rapid transit (like CTA rail) to the station
BIKE: Percentage of passengers that biked to the station
OTHER: Percentage of passengers that took other modes of transportation to get to the station (like divvy or ride-share)
TAXI: Percentage of passengers that took a taxi to the station
BOAT: Percentage of passengers that took a boat to the station
OTHER_METRA: Percentage of passengers that took another Metra train to get to the station
