Description

The Transportation to Work Program is a demand responsive service under the existing Ride DuPage system designed to provide persons with disabilities with greater opportunities to obtain and maintain employment through affordable transportation.

Current Activities

The operating service provided 2,534 trips in December 2019. This project is complete.

Description

Lake County combined three separate dial-a-ride services, operating in the Central Lake/Shields township area, into one service. The project initially calls for Shields Township to operate separately while the Fremont and Central Lake partners (Fremont Township, Libertyville Township, Villages of Libertyville and Mundelein) are combined. The service provides expanded dial-a-ride transportation in Lake County to seniors and individuals with disabilities residing in Central Lake County. Five municipalities and Lake County sponsor the project.

Description

Little City continues to provide transportation to seniors and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who are enrolled with Little City to places of employment, community-based programs, Special Olympics regional competitions, and medical appointments. 

Current Activities

The RTA Board approved funding for this project on August 19, 2021.  The operating project provided 6,756 trips in January 2023.

Description

In May 2022, Lake County combined and expanded the Central and West projects into a countywide service.

Ride Lake County is a borderless countywide paratransit service providing seniors (age 60 and above) and individuals with disabilities curb-to-curb transportation. The geographic service includes Lake County along with the entirety of municipalities whose city limits extend beyond the County border into Cook and McHenry County. With no limitations on the purpose of the trip the service operates Sunday through Saturday from 6:00am to 6:00pm (excluding specific holidays).

Description

Kendall Area Transit is a demand responsive dial-a-ride service that serves primarily senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the urban portions of Kendall County. The service is also open to general public. Service is provided Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM -7:00 PM except certain holidays. The award includes the funding for Mobility Management.

Description
Through the expansion of this bus route by 2 miles and the extension of weekend service hours from 7:00pm to 11:00 pm, this project will provide greater accessibility to a rapidly growing retail corridor along Roosevelt Rd. from State to Clinton resulting in increased access to jobs for low income individuals, seniors, the disabled, and other residents.

CTA does not have sufficient funds to meet federal local matching requirements at this time. The project cannot be implemented until local funds become available.

Description
This project, as part of the Ride DuPage program provides seniors and individuals with disabilities increased employment opportunities by providing them with transportation to jobs in and outside of their own town and at times that may extend beyond traditional work hours. Seven local governments sponsor the service: City of Naperville, Naperville Township, Lisle Township, Wheatland Township, Village of Glen Ellyn, City of Wheaton, and Milton Township.

Description
These accessible bus routes will be enhanced by increasing service frequency and hours of operation to improve access from Chicago's west side, an area of higher unemployment with pockets of low income residents to employment destinations that include the Illinois Medical District, University of Illinois-Chicago, the Brick Yard Mall/Wal-Mart area, Navy Pier, and Michigan Avenue.
Current Activities
Route 7 - CTA implemented the service on June 6, 2008. The 11,600 trips attributable to the expanded service. Route 65 - CTA implemented the service on March 23, 2008. The service provided 212,100 trips in June 2014 with an estimated 20,200 trips attributable to the expanded service. Both of these service are now operated without federal operating assistance.
