Description

The McRide program provides coordinated dial-a-ride service to individuals with disabilities and individuals 60 years or older.  The RTA Board approved funding for this project on August 22, 2019.

Current Activities

The operating service provided  3,385 trips in January 2021..

Description

Phase VI of Pace's Regional Call Center takes reservations for dial a ride and demand response services to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Call Center provides comprehensive mobility management services that improve the coordination and operation of transportation services.

Description
Taxicab companies that purchase purpose-built wheelchair accessible taxi vehicles or convert standard vehicles to wheelchair accessible vehicles will be reimbursed for the costs associated with accessible vehicle elements. It is estimated that this project may contribute 133 accessible cabs to the taxi cab fleet now serving Chicago.
Current Activities
The City of Chicago executed the grant agreement on this project with the Federal Transit Administration on April 30, 2013. The City incorporated the project into the City budget in November. The City is working with the taxi companies to refine the process for how taxi companies may participate in the project.

Description
New fixed route service along the 31st street corridor between Cicero Avenue and King Drive operating 7 days a week from 5:00 am until 8:00 pm. Route will improve mobility and access to an employment center, rail lines, and other bus routes for low income individuals, seniors, and the disabled.
Current Activities
CTA did not have sufficient funds to meet federal local matching requirements to carry out the project as originally proposed. However, beginning September 2, 2012 CTA extended Route No. 35 to incorporate a segment of the 31st Street route between Kedzie and Cicero Avenues. The new route segment originally was to operate through August 2013 and then be evaluated. In October 2013 the CTA Board approved making the route extension permanent. The service provided 133,927 trips in June 2014.

Description
This express bus route was originally implemented as Route 889 to provide low income residents in south Cook County with access to employment centers in the vicinity O-Hare and Schaumburg. In order to improve performance Pace introduced a new service design on November 21, 2011 as Route 895. The service operates peak period, peak direction, express service (NB in morning; SB in midday and evening) between Chicago Ridge & Pace Northwest Transportation Center with selected trips operating via the CTA Blue Line Rosemont Station. The service also includes a distributor segment to serve businesses in the Schaumburg area; the routing for each morning trip will vary/flex based on passenger destinations and the routing for midday and evening trips will follow the route¿s Schaumburg segment.
Current Activities
Pace reintroduced this service with a new service design on November 21, 2011. The service provided 4,368 trips in August 2014.

Description

This project will construct new sidewalk on the east side of Wolf Road between the Prospect Heights Metra station and Willow Road. This will connect to a previous phase of the multi-use path on Wolf Road that goes north from Willow Road to Palatine Road. The project also includes the installation of pedestrian signals at Camp McDonald Road.

The project has been let by IDOT. Coordination with utilities and Pace continue.

Description
These accessible bus routes will be enhanced by increasing service frequency and hours of operation to improve access from Chicago's west side, an area of higher unemployment with pockets of low income residents to employment destinations that include the Illinois Medical District, University of Illinois-Chicago, the Brick Yard Mall/Wal-Mart area, Navy Pier, and Michigan Avenue.
Current Activities
Route 7 - CTA implemented the service on June 6, 2008. The 11,600 trips attributable to the expanded service. Route 65 - CTA implemented the service on March 23, 2008. The service provided 212,100 trips in June 2014 with an estimated 20,200 trips attributable to the expanded service. Both of these service are now operated without federal operating assistance.

Description

his project will install tactile signs at all bus stop poles where CTA public information signs are currently posted to provide information about the exact bus stop location to customers who are blind or have visual or cognitive disabilities. Tactile Signage encourages individuals who currently rely on paratransit services to use fixed-route transit, even for trips where fixed-route service may have been available and at greater service span, frequency, and lower cost to operate than paratransit service.

Description

This project continues to operate as part of the Ride DuPage program. Older adults are afforded increased employment opportunities by providing them with transportation to jobs outside of their own town and at times that may extend beyond traditional work hours. Seven local governments sponsor the service.

Current Activities

The operating service provided 1,200 trips in May 2021. Ridership has been affected due to COVID-19.
