Description

This program, now in its fourth year of operation, coordinates paratransit services in Kane County into a centralized system that optimizes transportation resources for older adults, persons with disabilities, and low-income individuals. The sponsors of Phases 7 and 8 include 19 private, non-profit organizations and local units of government. Approximately 130,000 trips were provided through this program in 2010. Ridership continues to increase each month with a January 2011 vs. January 2010 increase of 25%.

Current Activities

The service provided 1,908 JARC trips in February 2018.  This project is complete.

Description

This project continues to operate as part of the Ride DuPage program.  Older adults are afforded increased employment opportunities by providing them with transportation to jobs outside of their own town and at times that may extend beyond traditional work hours.  Seven local governments sponsor the service.

Description

This project will install 250 visual information systems (VIS) sign displays at 125 of Metra's 242 stations. The VIS signs are Metra's next generation of video monitor boards that display real-time train tracking information, arrival times, and travel alerts. VIS signs provide visual information that is a requirement to be compliant with ADA law as it pertains to transit stations and are particularly beneficial for people with hearing impairments and seniors with disabilities.

Description
Expansion of this route from its present terminal at 71st St. & Pulaski to the Ford Center Shopping Center improves access to major retail and industrial establishments that provide job opportunities for low income individuals.
Current Activities
CTA implemented the service on September 6, 2009. The service provided 315,015 trips in June 2014 with an estimated 7,200 trips attributable to the expanded service.

Description
The Ride DuPage to Work is a service of the Ride DuPage system designed to enable persons with disabilities greater opportunities to obtain and maintain employment through more affordable transportation.
Current Activities
DuPage Transportation to Work, initially funded with the 2006 program, was implemented March 1, 2008. DuPage County became the grantee for the project in 2010. Prior to that Pace served as the project grantee. The service provided 2,137 trips in June 2014. This project is complete.

Description

Clearbrook continues to provide transportation services to more than 8,000 children & adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Clients are transported to work, school, day programs, medical appointments, community recreation, and other activities.

Description

his project will install tactile signs at all bus stop poles where CTA public information signs are currently posted to provide information about the exact bus stop location to customers who are blind or have visual or cognitive disabilities. Tactile Signage encourages individuals who currently rely on paratransit services to use fixed-route transit, even for trips where fixed-route service may have been available and at greater service span, frequency, and lower cost to operate than paratransit service.
