Description

An expansion of this route's service frequency and expanded hours will provide improved access to a major medical center and retail establishments. These destinations provide employment opportunities for low-income individuals.

Current Activities

CTA implemented the service on September 6, 2009. The service provided 175,696 trips in June 2014. Approximately 5,900 of the trips are estimated to be attributable to the service expansion.

Description

Through the expansion of this bus route by 2 miles and the extension of weekend service hours from 7:00pm to 11:00 pm, this project will provide greater accessibility to a rapidly growing retail corridor along Roosevelt Rd. from State to Clinton resulting in increased access to jobs for low income individuals, seniors, the disabled, and other residents.

Description

This project, as part of the Ride DuPage program provides seniors and individuals with disabilities increased employment opportunities by providing them with transportation to jobs in and outside of their own town and at times that may extend beyond traditional work hours. Seven local governments sponsor the service: City of Naperville, Naperville Township, Lisle Township, Wheatland Township, Village of Glen Ellyn, City of Wheaton, and Milton Township.

The service provided 2,448 trips in September 2016. This project is complete.

Description

The Ride in Kane program is in its second year of operation. This program coordinates paratransit services in Kane County into a centralized system that optimizes transportation resources for older adults, persons with disabilities and low-income individuals. Currently there are 18 private, non-profit organizations and local units of government participating in the program.

In June 2012, the service provided 11,709 trips. This project is complete.

Description

This dial-a-ride service expanded from a two day a week operation to five days a week. The service provides general purpose transportation within Washington Township and medical trips beyond the Township. In addition to providing increased service for the disabled and senior populations, eligible participants are able to obtain same day service.

Description

New fixed route service connecting retail district at 92nd/Commerical to 83rd Street providing service from east 83rd Street to 79th Street Dan Ryan Red Line station. Description

New fixed route service along the 31st street corridor between Cicero Avenue and King Drive operating 7 days a week from 5:00 am until 8:00 pm. Route will improve mobility and access to an employment center, rail lines, and other bus routes for low income individuals, seniors, and the disabled.

Current Activities

CTA did not have sufficient funds to meet federal local matching requirements to carry out the project as originally proposed. However, beginning September 2, 2012 CTA extended Route No. 35 to incorporate a segment of the 31st Street route between Kedzie and Cicero Avenues. The new route segment originally was to operate through August 2013 and then be evaluated. In October 2013 the CTA Board approved making the route extension permanent. The service provided 133,927 trips in June 2014.
