Description

This is a general public, demand responsive paratransit service that provides service predominately for senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the urban portions of Kendall County.

Current Activities

The service provided  1,407 trips in June 2021.  

This project is complete.

Description

The WTW program provides small, short-term, low-interest loans to low-income families for the purpose of purchasing or repairing a car to get to work, childcare, and to pursue educational or job training opportunities. The project funding will be used to support operating costs associated with client screening and case management, and for a small loan guarantee pool. This project will replicate other JARC projects that have been successfully implemented in other parts of the country.

Current Activities

The Salvation Army launched the Ways to Work project on September 26, 2011. In June 2013, 296 individuals have attended personal finance education classes and 111 loans have been approved. This project is complete.

Description

This project is designed to coordinate paratransit services in Kane County into a more centralized system that would optimize resources for the expansion of service into areas currently not served and provide additional service for underserved areas. The project will increase the mobility of older adults, persons with disabilities, and low income individuals by providing access to needed services and employment. Ride-in-Kane, initially funded with the 2006 program, was implemented February 1, 2008. AID became the grantee for this project in May 2011. Pace previously served as the grantee.

Current Activities

The service provided 11,516 trips in March 2011. This project is complete.

Description

The project will assess and provide training to the disabled and older adults to improve their ability to utilize transportation services.

Current Activities

Since the project's inception in September 2009 through June 2014, the project received 498 referrals with 454 participants having completed training.

Description

This dial-a-ride service expanded from a two day a week operation to five days a week. The service provides general purpose transportation within Washington Township and medical trips beyond the Township. In addition to providing increased service for the disabled and senior populations, eligible participants are able to obtain same day service.

Description

The Ride in Kane program is now entering its third year of operation. This program coordinates paratransit services in Kane County into a centralized system that optimizes transportation resources for older adults, persons with disabilities, and low-income individuals. Currently, there are 17 private, non-profit organizations and local units of government participating in the program. Approximately 100,000 trips were provided through this program in 2009.

The service provided 8,015 trips in July 2014. This project is complete.

Description

The MCRide program provides coordinated dial-a-ride service to individuals with disabilities and individuals 60 years or older.  Service is provided countywide. This is an existing Section 5310 project.   New to this application, and included in the recommended award, is capital funding to develop a trip scheduling and payment app for riders, elimthis pnating the need to call the Pace call center or pay in cash.

Current Activities

McHenry County has decided not to move forward with this project.  Funds will be reprogrammed to another project.

Description

This project, by initially integrating the services of four dial-a-ride projects, now serves a geographic area covering seven communities, providing transportation services primarily for older adults and individuals with disabilities. This project will continue to integrate and coordinate dial-a-ride services currently being provided throughout McHenry County. Dial-a-ride service for seniors and people with disabilities is also provided throughout Greenwood, Dorr, Grafton, Nunda, McHenry, Marengo and Riley Townships. Three service extensions are included to serve the Fox Lake Metra Station, Valley-Hi nursing home/McHenry County Division of Transportation, and the Park and Ride lot in the Village of Lake in the Hills.

The operating service provided 5,897 trips in February 2018. This project is complete.
