Description

New midday service operating weekdays between the hours of 10am and 2pm between Irving Park/Pulaski (Blue Line) and Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center/Cook County Courts in Skokie. The service will allow additional access to jobs and medical appointments for low income individuals.

Current Activities

CTA does not have sufficient funds to meet federal local matching requirements at this time. The project cannot be implemented until local funds become available.

Description

Description

These reservation based, curb-to-curb services that pick up general public riders within a specified geographic area of approximately 8 square miles and takes them anywhere within that same area. Three Call-n-Rides will operate in the communities of Park Forest (Rich Township), Tinley Park (Orland Township), and Huntley (Grafton Township). The services will allow reverse commuters to be transported to employment areas within the respective service areas as well as providing connections to Metra stations for the traditional commuter market.

Current Activities

The RTA Board approved this project at the November 2012 meeting. As the next step, Pace will submit an application to the Federal Transit Administration. Pace determined other locations were more suited for the service and plans to implement the project in 2014 according to the following schedule:

Description

The RTA will assist the Village of Sauk Village to prepare a corridor study focused on segments of Sauk Trail (from Cottage Grove to Torrence Avenue) and Torrence Avenue (from Sauk Trail to US 30). The goals of the study include developing strategies to: improve pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and access to transit services, attract investment and development, and reduce motor vehicle speeding and crashes.

Current Activities

Procurement of consultant services is underway. RTA staff expect this project to begin in Fall 2023.

Description

The RTA is supporting Equiticity, an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), with advancing development of a community mobility center in Bronzeville, near the 51st Street Green Line station. The RTA will assist with identifying community perceptions of existing public transit; with understanding transportation’s impact on environment & personal wellbeing; with gauging the receptivity to climate-friendly mobility modes, gauging the demand for shared bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters & e-vehicles, and with obtaining feedback on design and implementation of the hub and its services.

The RTA will be working during the summer with Equiticity to develop project goals and a scope of tasks.

Description

This project is for the purchase of software that uses train schedules to determine the minimum amount of crews members needed to operate service. This software will be used with the new electronic crew calling system that helps Metra better comply with Passenger Hours of Service (PHOS) regulation for hours of service reporting requirements. Description

The RTA has awarded $55,000 to the City of Harvey to complete Phase I engineering required for improvements along Broadway Avenue in downtown Harvey. The project will include transit access improvements such as bus shelters, pedestrian improvements including ADA-compliant intersections, and new roadway bike facilities. These improvements will better provide for a multi-modal downtown Harvey and will connect the new Pace Harvey Transportation Center with Broadway Avenue.
