Description
The Village was chosen as part of the 2011 Community Planning Program to update their TOD area zoning regulations in anticipation of new development.
Current Activities
Adoption of the new zoning regulations is currently on hold as the property clears the foreclosure process. As soon as the property is clear, the Village will consider adopting these regulations.

Description
Blue Island was chosen as part of a Pilot Project in 2011 to update their TOD area zoning regulations in their uptown (Vermont Street station) area. The zoning updates were completed in 2012.
Current Activities
A new zoning district called the Uptown Transit-Oriented District was created and formally adopted into the City Zoning Ordinance on June 14, 2012. The new regulations can be found here. Additionally the City participated in a ULI Developer Discussion Panel focused on the 119th Street Station area. Current Activities
New TOD area zoning regulations were unanimously adopted by the Village Board on October 20, 2014 and the new regulations will be posted as soon as minor revisions are made.

Description
This project examined the TOD area to identify ways to revise the zoning regulations to address the transit-supportive land use recommendations found in the Downtown Plan. The result was a proposed form-based code for the Downtown district.
Current Activities
The TOD zoning code revisions are complete and waiting on adoption by the Northbrook Village Board. The Board has met several times between 2016 and 2020 to discuss the proposed form-based code and potential revisions that would address Trustees' feedback.

Description

The Village was chosen as part of the 2012 RTA Community Planning Program of Projects to update the zoning ordinance in the Village's TOD study area to include transit-supportive regulations.

Current Activities

Although the TOD regulations developed during the project have yet to be adopted, the Village Board did adopt a new zoning map on March 15, 2018. The proposed regulations developed during this project continue to be used as guidelines for downtown projects in the Village.

Description
Buffalo Grove was chosen as part of the 2011 RTA Community Planning Program of Projects to create zoning guidelines for both the Buffalo Grove and Prairie View station areas to encourage transit-supportive development.
Current Activities
Updated regulations & design guidelines for both station areas were completed in August 2012. The RTA continues to track development progress in both station areas and to offer implementation assistance when appropriate.

Description
This dial-a-ride service expanded from a two day a week operation to five days a week. The service provides general purpose transportation within Washington Township and medical trips beyond the Township. In addition to providing increased service for the disabled and senior populations, eligible participants are able to obtain same day service.
Current Activities
Washington Township implemented the service September 1, 2009. It provided approximately 500 trips per month. This project is part of the new Will County Mobility Management Program.
