The WTW program provides small, short-term, low-interest loans to low-income families for the purpose of purchasing or repairing a car to get to work, childcare, and to pursue educational or job training opportunities. The project funding will be used to support operating costs associated with client screening and case management, and for a small loan guarantee pool. This project will replicate other JARC projects that have been successfully implemented in other parts of the country. Current Activities
The Salvation Army launched the Ways to Work project on September 26, 2011. Since the program's inception through March 2015, 2,369 individuals have attended personal finance education classes and 506 loans have been approved. This project is complete. Funding Amounts by Source

These reservation based, curb-to-curb services that pick up general public riders within a specified geographic area of approximately 8 square miles and takes them anywhere within that same area. Three Call-n-Rides will operate in the communities of Park Forest (Rich Township), Tinley Park (Orland Township), and Huntley (Grafton Township). The services will allow reverse commuters to be transported to employment areas within the respective service areas as well as providing connections to Metra stations for the traditional commuter market. The RTA Board approved this project at the November 2012 meeting. As the next step, Pace will submit an application to the Federal Transit Administration. This project, as part of the Ride DuPage program provides seniors and individuals with disabilities increased employment opportunities by providing them with transportation to jobs in and outside of their own town and at times that may extend beyond traditional work hours. Seven local governments sponsor the service: City of Naperville, Naperville Township, Lisle Township, Wheatland Township, Village of Glen Ellyn, City of Wheaton, and Milton Township.

The service provided 2,445 trips in May 2018. This project is complete.

This is a new fixed route service connecting the Chicago Red Line and Logan Square Blue Line stations. There are an estimated 400-600 businesses on the route that represent employment opportunities for low-income workers. A major attraction on this route is the Anixter Center that provides training and employment for persons with severely limited mobility.
Current Activities
CTA does not have sufficient funds to meet federal local matching requirements at this time. The project cannot be implemented until local funds become available.

This project will provide reverse commute employment transportation for low-income persons who have criminal records and are residing in Cook County. The daily service, to be operated by a private contractor, will cover three employment shifts. Individuals will be transported to and from five designated pick-up points in the City of Chicago to employers located in the suburbs. The designated pick-up points may all be accessed through CTA.
Current Activities
The grant contract with the Safer Foundation was executed effective August 11, 2010. Funds for this service were exhausted in August 2011. In its last year of funding the project averaged 153 trips per month.
The Safer Foundation is continuing the service with its own resources. This project is complete.
