These reservation based, curb-to-curb services that pick up general public riders within a specified geographic area of approximately 8 square miles and takes them anywhere within that same area. Three Call-n-Rides will operate in the communities of Park Forest (Rich Township), Tinley Park (Orland Township), and Huntley (Grafton Township). The services will allow reverse commuters to be transported to employment areas within the respective service areas as well as providing connections to Metra stations for the traditional commuter market. The RTA Board approved this project at the November 2012 meeting. As the next step, Pace will submit an application to the Federal Transit Administration. This service from 9 am to 2 pm weekdays will operate between 16th/Cicero and Cermak/Indiana helping low income individuals obtain improved access to employment opportunities including two hospitals.

Current Activities: CTA implemented the service on September 8, 2009. The service provided 93,977 trips in the month of June 2014. Approximately 31,600 of the trips are estimated to be attributable to the service expansion.

The RTA is providing the Village of Plainfield Phase II engineering and construction funds to build a 0.6 mile extension of a 10' wide shared-use path along the south side of 143rd Street from Van Dyke Road to Wallin Drive. Wayfinding signage to the Plainfield Park-n-Ride and downtown Plainfield will be included along the route. These improvements will better connect residents to transit and downtown Plainfield. Through the expansion of this bus route by 2 miles and the extension of weekend service hours from 7:00pm to 11:00 pm, this project will provide greater accessibility to a rapidly growing retail corridor along Roosevelt Rd. from State to Clinton resulting in increased access to jobs for low income individuals, seniors, the disabled, and other residents.
Current Activities
CTA does not have sufficient funds to meet federal local matching requirements at this time. The project cannot be implemented until local funds become available.

This program provides transportation and mobility management services for persons with disabilities, the elderly and low-income individuals residing in eastern Will County townships. The program is an outgrowth of the county's coordinated paratransit plan funded through the RTA's Subregional Planning program. The RTA Board approved the 2011 Program of Projects at its November 16, 2011 meeting. Grant agreements have been executed. By agreement with Washington Township this project has taken on the management responsibilities for grants initially awarded to Washington Township. As a result of this agreement an additional $32,970 in federal funding has been added to this project. Will County formed the Paratransit Council that will help to set policy for the project. This program provides transportation and mobility services seniors and individuals with disabilities residing in eastern Will County townships. Current Activities

This project will construct bicycle and pedestrian improvements along two corridors in the community: an east-west bicycle route and a north-south pedestrian route that connect the Village’s two Metra stations and three Pace Bus routes to its three industrial areas. Improvements to the bike network will include the installation of eight-foot multi-use paths, on road sharrows, on road dedicated bike lanes, and installation of new signage and path widening along existing paths. The proposed sidewalk improvements on 25th Avenue will provide safe connections from the downtown train stations to the southern industrial area without forcing pedestrians to navigate gaps in the sidewalk network. Employees taking the Pace 303 bus will also benefit from these improvements. Current Activities

In May 2022, Lake County combined and expanded the Central and West projects into a countywide service. Ride Lake County is a borderless countywide paratransit service providing seniors (age 60 and above) and individuals with disabilities curb-to-curb transportation. The geographic service includes Lake County along with the entirety of municipalities whose city limits extend beyond the County border into Cook and McHenry County. With no limitations on the purpose of the trip the service operates Sunday through Saturday from 6:00am to 6:00pm (excluding specific holidays). Current Activities
