Description

This project provides transportation support individuals with disabilities. The door-to-door transportation services are vital to allow persons enrolled at CTF greater access to their daily supports including community employment, day programs, social and recreational activities, and medical appointments. This award includes funding for a mobility manager. This is an existing Section 5310 funded project.

Description

Individuals with disabilities are transported from their homes to Community Learning Centers and a variety of other activities including grocery shopping, medical appointments, volunteer opportunities and recreational activities. Service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. This award funds operating. This is an existing Section 5310 operating project.

Description

This project will convert all of the bus stops in the City of Evanston from flagged to posted stops and include the installation of ADA compliant bus stop pads. In addition, this project will install shelters, pedestrian signals, truncated domes, and new and replaced sidewalk to further enhance the new bus stops. Shelters are proposed for stops with 20 average daily boardings.

Current Activities

The RTA is working on drafting an IGA amendment to reflect the change in scope of the project. Consultant has been selected, the project has been awarded and work has begun on Phase II Engineering.

Description

Phase IX of Pace's Regional Call Center takes reservations for dial a ride and demand response services to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Call Center provides comprehensive mobility management services that improve the coordination and operation of transportation services and supports county-led coordination services funded by Section 5310. This is an existing Section 5310 funded project.

Description

This project funded the installation of new shared lane markings (AKA sharrows), allowing the Village to implement low-cost recommendations from its Master Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The project included the installation of covered bike parking and wayfinding at the Northbrook Metra station.

Description

This project will fund Phase I engineering necessary for sidewalk, crosswalk, and other intersection improvements along Sauk Trail and Torrence Avenue. Future improvements will fill sidewalk gaps and make ADA and safety related improvements at key intersections along Pace Bus Route 358.

Description

The RTA convened a half-day Developer Discussion Panel in July 2022 to solicit guidance and advice from development experts regarding a collection of Town-owned parcels near the Cicero Metra station on the UP-West line. This panel discussed the development climate and potential strategies to prepare for, and attract development to, these parcels.

Current Activities

The Developer Discussion Panel was held in Cicero on July 19. The report of recommendations was published in October 2022 and is available under "Related Reports."

Description

Kendall Area Transit is a demand responsive dial-a-ride service that serves primarily senior citizens and persons with disabilities in the urban portions of Kendall County. The service is also open to general public. Service is provided Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM -7:00 PM except certain holidays. The award includes the funding for Mobility Management.

Project Details

Description

The RTA is assisting the City of Berwyn to make transit-supportive amendments to the zoning regulations along the Harlem Avenue corridor from Roosevelt Road to Pershing Road. The result will include code revisions that foster a pedestrian-friendly development style along the corridor, preparing it for future Pace Pulse service. Revising the code along Harlem Avenue is a recommendation for the City in the Central Harlem Avenue Corridor Study.

Current Activities

Work on this project began in 2023 with stakeholder interviews and an elected/appointed officials roundtable discussion in June with the Berwyn Committee of the Whole. The project team has completed community engagement activities and is developing draft recommendations for City staff review.
